I recently visited Hollywood Diamond to design a custom engagement ring. Thach, Nina, and Linda offered an educational consultation and patiently allowed me to try on various diamonds, helping me determine the ideal size and shape for my hand.
As someone who is super picky when it comes to the setting and band, I had a bunch of instagram insto pics I wanted to mash together for my perfect ring. After showing Thach these pics, he skillfully sketched out the perfect setting that encapsulated my vision. From there, the team 3-D printed a prototype of the band, allowing me to preview and approve the design before the final ring was crafted! It was such a unique experience - the level of customization and attention to detail was truly impressive!

They where highly recommended by my now sister-in-law so I figured we give it a shot since we were in town. So as a typical guy that doesn't know what to get for an engagement ring, I brought my soon to be fiancé..... hopefully (jk) to Hollywood Diamond to go ring shopping and the Thai family welcomed us. We were well educated thanks to Mr. Thach. I can tell in the first 10 minutes of talking to him that he really is passionate about his craftsmanship and he not only envisioned, he also executed my now wife's dream engagement ring with perfection. Nothing needed to be changed after everything was said and done. We were so pleased with the results that we had our wedding bands custom made as well. Both bands custom made with specific instructions all the way from Calgary and again Mr. Thach knocked it out of the park with the results. I can't say in a shorter amount of words in this review how grateful I am to the Thai family for all the help and support throughout this whole process. I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend Hollywood Diamond over any big box retailers if you want that personal experience.

My boyfriend and I were starting to shop for a ring. We went to some retailers and browsed online as well. Didn’t find anything within our budget that caught my eye. When we walked in to Hollywood Diamond, I did not have any pictures or drawings ready. I’m not familiar with the custom jewelry process so we were just in for a consultation. They have so many setting options. They’re also very knowledgeable about the market and what the popular styles are at Birks, Tiffany, etc. Thach is probably the most patient person I have ever met. From the setting to picking the rock, I had soooooo much back and forth but he always had a smile on and patiently waits for our decisions. After a good 60 minute session, we nailed down on a design I liked combining a few elements I have seen. That day, I went home and drew some pictures of what I had envisioned. And the ring turned out EXACTLY like I had hoped! We couldn’t be happier.

Their prices are on par with the biggest online retailers and more competitive than all of their local competitors. They were patient during my decision-making process and were never pushy.
The obvious benefit of purchasing from them versus an online store is you get to see the diamond in person and make a no-risk decision. And that's what I did. They had a diamond in stock that had the specs I wanted and the price I was comfortable with. However, it was graded by GemScan and I preferred something graded by GIA. So the owner Thach said he'd check with his supplier to see if there was a similar diamond that was graded by GIA. A couple days later, he called me saying he found a stone that exceeded my expectations and was still in my price range. I went to check it out and it was exactly what I was looking for.
With regards to the setting, I found photos online of what I was looking for and emailed it to them. They were able to replicate the design as closely as possible. For those who don't have a specific setting in mind, Hollywood Diamond has a few dozen styles on-hand that one can pick from.
Needless to say, my fiancé and I absolutely love the final product and we would definitely recommend their store to anyone shopping for an engagement ring.

I had already (surprise) proposed to my fiance with a placeholder ring - the next step for us was to start shopping. We heard about Hollywood Diamond through word-of-mouth, and thought we could sit down to educate ourselves about diamonds, as well as try on some settings. Thach and his wife had the patience of saints to sit down with us for 2 hours to educate us on the 4 C's of a diamond, lab vs. mined, sizing, settings, literally any question and concern we could think of - Thach took seriously and alleviated our thoughts. We visited Hollywood Diamond about 1 and a half years ago to resize a small ring for my girlfriend. Thach Thai and his family did this with ease. While we were there Thach took us through all the intrecacies of diamonds with such passion and excitement that at that moment I knew where I had to go to get the engagement ring I was going to give the girl standing next to me getting her thin gold opal ring resized.
When it came time in November 2023, Thach and his family at Hollywood Diamond meticulously took me through the creation of the ring that would start the next chapter of our lives together. Hollywood Diamond took me on a journey from understanding diamonds, viewing and choosing the perfect stone, designing the ring, creating iterations of plastic molds and finally creating the final product, and all at a very reasonable price compared to other vendors.

After a decade of dating I was searching for the perfect ring for the engagement. Mr and Mrs. Thai were able to educate me on the characteristics of the stones, setting and band to build the ring. The finished ring ended up being very fast. The box that was included was a very nice box that lights up ! We had gone back to get the ring sized and for my fiancé’s initial visit, Mr and Mrs Thai briefly explained on the paperwork as well as care of the ring. Mr Thai also showed the differences of the clarity and colour of stones under the lights to my fiancé. Overall, we’ve had a very pleasant and informative experience at Hollywood Diamonds.
